The cradle of the family
| The mentioned villages are located in or beside the area Kraichgau, or in the influence of the former property of the monastery of Maulbronn. Here are the earliest references to our family. In the Middle Ages the territory belonged to the Duke of Palatinate and the Bishop of Speyer. The Duke of Palatinate inherited the Electors of the Palatinate and the monastery of Maulbronn was claimed by the Duke of Wuerttemberg. The map on the right shows the area around 1400.
